Implementation of a new installation for the reuse of reclaimed water at the Manresa WWTP

A key project for sustainable water management

At Eléctrica Pintó, we have developed a new infrastructure at the Manresa Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to optimize the reuse of reclaimed water. This project allows municipal service tankers and other entities to load reclaimed water safely and efficiently, promoting a more sustainable and efficient water management model.

Purpose of the installation

The reclaimed water generated at the Manresa WWTP was already being used within the plant for various processes. However, to expand its impact and facilitate its use for external purposes, a new supply point has been implemented. To ensure the quality and safety of the water before delivery, a chlorination system has been incorporated through an intermediate tank. This guarantees that the supplied water meets the necessary sanitary requirements.

 

 

Technical features of the project

  1. Intermediate chlorination tank

To ensure that the reclaimed water supplied is suitable for its intended uses, we have installed an intermediate chlorination tank, where the water is treated before being loaded into tankers. This system ensures an adequate level of disinfection and prevents microbiological risks.

  1. Installation of a consumption hydrant and control system

A consumption hydrant equipped with a control totem and flow meter has been implemented, allowing regulation and monitoring of the supplied water. This enables efficient consumption management and real-time distribution monitoring.

  1. Filtration and water treatment systems

The reclaimed water passes through different filters and sensors to ensure its quality:

  1. Electrical panels and remote control system

The system incorporates a control electrical panel that manages the automation of processes, ensuring efficient and safe operation. Additionally, it has been connected to the fiber optic network of the WWTP to enable remote monitoring through the telecontrol system.
